What is our aim?

To identify pupil’s individual learning needs; overcome barriers to learning and improve access to the curriculum, in order to raise achievement.

What do we provide?

The Learning and Language Team provide an extensive range of support for SEND pupils and school staff, including:

  • Literacy screening of year groups, analysis and recommendations for intervention
  • Exam Access Arrangement assessments for KS2 and KS4
  • Individual literacy assessments and reviews with reports and recommendations
  • Full dyslexia assessments with reports and recommendations for support
  • Dyslexia assessments of Sixth Form College students to apply for University and Higher Education Disability Allowance
  • Small group and individual teaching of targeted pupils, using individually designed multi-sensory approaches and interventions
  • Data collation and analysis, to measure the impact of literacy Interventions.
  • Numeracy assessments with reports and recommendations
  • Support and advice for Head teachers, SENCOs, teaching staff and parents
  • INSET and PD for staff
  • TA Training
